So, I am thinking, since I didn't get to blog about things as they happened throughout the last year, I would like to do a series of posts ...A year in review, and touch on specific moments, events, milestones etc. The things I didn't get to write about because the going through it was enough to keep me busy a million times over.
What do you think?
I have started with Ava's birth story...finally...it is tough. I don't want to say it wrong, or leave things out, and there's just so much to say. Pray for me as I work to share our story, that it may bless others, and show you all that having a child with Down Syndrome is one of the greatest gifts you can receive. It is such a blessing. Though the road we've been on and continue on is not always easy, it is so worth it. With the Lord's guidance and hand on us. We will walk on..we will get through anything that comes our way...of that I am sure. God is good...All the time!
Keep Looking Up!

ReplyDeletethankyou :)
DeleteI need to write my daughter's birth story as well. I am terrified to not be able to say it perfectly. But I wish you the very best as begin to write about the events and milestones of your last year. Just don't forget to record the blessings of this year as well!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same...there is so much to say, and with all the happened during that time, I too want to make sure I capture it just right. And you can be sure I will not leave out the blessings! Through the great struggles and trials...God has blessed so immensely! Honestly, my life will never be the same again...I cannot take anything for granted anymore, even the little things..I have been blessed with another chance at life. Given my health back, and a beautiful family to raise. I will do my best! I look forward to hopefully reading your birth story someday too. :)
DeleteHaving a child with Down Syndrome is one of the greatest gifts you can receive? Oh good lord someone is in denial. Sure, when you watch your child struggle in school and in life you keep telling yourself that.
ReplyDeleteWould you know what a gift for this family? Yes, having a child with DS can be an amazing gift and to this family possibly one of the best received. Kids with DS have the most joyful and loving spirits. Kids with DS are happy and kind. I dont this there is any denying that they feel blessed to have her. She could have died, and so yes having her is a huge blessing considering the alternative. And as far as struggling in school, she will be like any struggling child with a good and loving parent... she will be right there helping her child get past the struggle. Learn, and grown, taking the time our of her own life to give it to her child who needs it. Thats what being a parent (a good parent) is all about. Teaching, loving and supporting. You obviously know nothing of that kind of love, and I feel sorry for you. But I rejoice in this family who sees theyre child with DS. Loves her. and is HAPPY, Honored, and yes BLESSED to raise such a miracle baby.
